Welcome to the land of natural and cultural heritage, in the Renaissance Region
ATCZ185 Through the Region of the Renaissance against the flow of time (1. 6. 2019 – 30. 11. 2022) – Interreg ATCZ.
ERDF support: 1,281,493.15 EUR (of which Microregion Telčsko 201,102.35 EUR)
The main goal is to make cultural and natural heritage accessible in a common cross-border region. We will create interactive cycling routes full of experiences (views, cultural and natural monuments). The project will be based on a cross-border archive of historical materials of the Renaissance Region. The archive will be followed by an interactive guide – the mobile application will take tourists around the region and introduce them history (forgotten settlements…), crafts (stone-cutting…) and natural phenomena (geology…). We want to motivate visitors to the region to a sustainable approach to the landscape and cultural heritage of the Renaissance Region.
As part of this project, we will do archaeological surveys of the Štamberk ruins and rehabilitate the ruin so that it is safe for tourists and there is no risk of its further disintegration. We will add tourist mobiliary and educational elements to the locality. In Nová Říše we will build an educational herb trail, in Urbanov we will construct a lookout over the Dyje valley and in Mrákotín an educational trail with the theme of granite mining will be created.
Natural heritage of peat landscapes of the Mühlviertel region and the Vysočina Geopark as a protected natural space, a place of experiences and education
ATCZ214 Moorerlebnis OÖ-VY / Experience from the peat-bog of OÖ-VY (1.1.2020 – 30.06.2022)
ERDF support: € 1,639,324.00
The municipality of Liebenau, the town of Telč and the Telčsko Microregion (Geopark Vysočina) are parts of the Mühlviertel and Vysočina border region. The area is economically disadvantaged, but has preserved, irreplaceable and endangered natural jewels in the form of peat bogs and wetlands with plants and animals that are bound to these localities. The basis of the project on the Austrian side is the protected area Natura 2000 Tannermoor and on the Czech side the national natural monument Zhejral and the nature reserve Velký Pařezitý Pond, Kaliště and Doubský-Bažantka.
The added value of cross-border cooperation will contribute to the protection of the common natural heritage of peat bogs and wetlands. We will boost the motivation to protect peat bogs by children as well as adults (e.g. for climate, plants, animals) and create jobs for the regional population, based on sustainable tourism. Cross-border cooperation will contribute to reducing the peripherality of the localities, mainly due to the similarity of the territory, common values and emphasis on the preserved natural and cultural space.
Stones without borders
Steine ohne Grenzen – SOG – KPF-02-142 (1. 4. 2020 – 31. 12. 2021) – Funding of small Interreg projects

This is the second joint project of the partners Geopark Vysočina (GV) and the Nature Park Blockheide (NB), which builds on the previous great cooperation. The partners are interested in deepening their relationship, learning from each other and developing common know-how in the field of environmental education and tourism.
Both the GV and NB areas are attractive due to the numerous granite formations that make up unique rock formations. The common themes of both areas are granite, nature protection, tourism and education.
The partners have different levels of experience in managing a tourist destination. Mutual cooperation aims to raise the level of the partner in areas where the other partner is more experienced. The partners build on the assumption 1 + 1 = 3. Due to collaboration and sharing experiences the partners will achieve better results at lower costs.
The project assumes close cooperation of partners on all activities and outputs. Activities are focused on educating children, strengthening the relationship with the local landscape, creating a common tourism strategy and mutual promotion.
Vysočina National Geopark – we connect science, tourists and locals
ID O03040.0001 1. 1. 2020 – 31. 12. 2020
Subsidy amount: CZK 200,000 (100%)
It is mainly about strengthening activities and cooperation in science, research and education and practical application of acquired scientific knowledge, which will support the development of tourist potential of the Geopark, with application in creating or innovating tools and products of sustainable tourism or preparing new educational and awareness activities of the Geopark.
By combining modern technologies in tourism and scientific knowledge, we will compile a range of activities that have the potential to attract more visitors or extend the duration of their stay in the Geopark. This brings positive effects both on the economic development of the territory and on the deepening of the population’s knowledge of the territory and the strengthening of their belonging to the region and the landscape. Involving municipalities and local actors in the care of “their” landscape is one of the main goals of the Geopark.
Key activities of the project are planned with a focus on scientific research in collaboration with research and academic institutions.

The submitted plan follows up on the project “Geopark Vysočina – a competitive national geopark”, implemented with the support of the Vysočina Region in the period from July 2018 to December 2019. It focuses on setting up and implementing specific measures for the further development of the Geopark Vysočina, with the aim of strengthening its competitiveness, attractiveness and prestige on a national and international level.
It is mainly about strengthening activities and cooperation in science, research and education and practical application of acquired scientific knowledge, which will support the development of tourist potential of the Geopark, with application in creating or innovating tools and products of sustainable tourism or preparing new educational and awareness activities of the Geopark. The wide range of interesting activities that keep up with the latest scientific knowledge has the potential to attract more visitors or extend the duration of their stay in the Geopark. This brings positive effects both on the economic development of the territory and on the deepening of the population’s knowledge of the territory and the strengthening of their belonging to the region and the landscape. The planned key activities of the project will be focused on scientific research, in cooperation with research and academic institutions, especially the Museum of Vysočina Jihlava, the Department of Geology of Faculty of Science by Charles University, the National Museum of Science, the Czech Geological Survey and other relevant research institutes.
Geological trail of the Vysočina Geopark
PRV – ZSIF – Registration number: 19/003/19210/563/146/001988 – 4. 2020 – 31. 12. 2020
Total project expenses: 846,576.00 CZK
The aim of the project is to restore and expand the current geo-exposition. We want to make the place an attractive tourist location, where people would like to return to.
In order for the place to be interesting for tourists, it needs a new content and form. A functioning tourist locality must fulfil 3 basic functions: 1) Rest, 2) Information and Education, 3) Experience. The new geo-exposition will meet all these conditions.
People will relax at the new seating area. A historical map of the Roštejn game-preserve will be embedded directly in the table surface – the public will be able to read basic information.
The current geo-exposition will be given a new form. We will unify the appearance of individual exhibits and expand the collection with new exhibits and models. Information boards and descriptions of exhibits will have modern content so that they are easy to understand, even for small children.
The exhibition and mobiliary will be followed by an adventure trail. The children will be led along a threshing path among the trees. On the trail they will overcome various obstacles made of natural materials.
Educational elements and new mobiliary (including a trash can) will help to strengthen the relationship between people and nature. Directly and indirectly, it will help to protect the forests and landscape of the Vysočina National Geopark. Geo-exposition will increase visitor’s interest in the natural sciences, forest environment and nature conservation.
The new form of geo-exposition will meet all the requirements for a modern tourist location. Parents and children will get new information and a lot of experiences.
Envi-educational cooperation of the Geopark with the Naturpark
